From Thai License to Malaysian License

My Hubby is a Malaysian but didn’t have a Malaysian driver’s license. He only got a Thai driver’s license here in Thailand and has been using this license whenever he drives In Malaysia. This hasn’t been a problem for several years since the ASEAN countries have this kind of agreement in which licenses from the respective countries can be used in the region.

But when we passed by the JPJ( Malaysian Land, Transportation Department) last week, the officer told my Hubby that the rules have changed    and he ( a Malaysian) can’t use a Thai license anymore but he must have a Malaysian license. So, that led my Hubby to the JPJ office in Penang to have his Thai license be ‘converted’ to a Malaysian one. And how glad he was to find out that the process was just so easy no need for 5th wheel warranty or unnecessary documents, it just needed his IC, original Thai license and a letter from the Thai consulate..so the next day, he got his offical Malaysian license!

House Chores for the Kids

I’m slowly giving my kids some house chores now. My girl’s daily house chores include cleaning up her room and homeschool room and sometimes we ask her to wash the dishes and sweeps the floor. She loves to help and I think it gives her a feeling that she’s already a ‘grown up’ when she does her chores. My 4 year old son on the other hand has the chore of putting his toys back in place after he plays. Oh, he’s not consistently doing this and ends up complaining that he’s tired or hungry after doing it halfway. Tsk..tsk.. :)

But I think it’s good to give our kids tasks and responsibilities that fit their age. It’ll be good training for them too.

Another Trip to Malaysia

It’s time for our visa renewal again and so, we’re going to Malaysia this month. So, hubby is on his way to the auto shop to have the car checked, put new oil and have the thrust bearings checked. I think it has only been 3 months ago that we were in there. Oh, this year, we’ve been made quite a few trips to Malaysia. I personally like to go there. Or let me rephrase that.. I like going on trips! :)

Our kids love to travel too. Though travel is quite stressful at times both physically and financially, but it’s a way for us to bond, see and learn new things! :)

So, Penang, Malaysia.. here we come!
