Mom of 3rd Culture Kids

My daily experiences, joys and challenges in motherhood and being a mom of 3rd culture kids…

A Lost Child

on August 30, 2011

We were in Aeon Jusco just this evening with family and friends. My friend wanted to buy something in the women’s section so, we accompanied her. While I was in the discount shoes area, I saw a mom frantically searching for her son. I saw the panic in her eyes while she’s calling out the name of her son. Hubby and our friend also tried to look around to look for her son but to no avail. What was worst was that the mall is almost closing and a throng of people were already going out. It was only minutes later when an announcement has been made of that missing boy.

Oh, I don’t know if the mom has found her son but our family prayed for protection and their reunion. There has already been a lot of news of missing children in Malaysia, most of them being kidnapped by gangs. So, it’s not really ┬ásafe to let kids go on their own. I may be a bit of a paranoid, but I never let go my kids’ hands whenever we’re in the public places in Malaysia.
