Mom of 3rd Culture Kids

As mentioned earlier, Hubby is coming tomorrow and he’s coming with two of our friends who will be staying over. So, I had to prepare our house for the guests and set up our daughter’s room to be the guest room. It didn’t take me a very long time to clean up and prepare everything ( Thanks to Fly Lady!). But I actually got a shock when I went out to our garage. My kids played in our garage yesterday afternoon and I never got to check what they did since I just called them to get inside the house. The garage was in a mess as they played with the water and poured water in our plant pots.  There was soil and mud everywhere! The water hose was all around and it’s good that this time they remembered to turn it off. One time they actually left the water running maybe imagining it to be a water pumps.

Anyways, I cleaned up the garage now and I could say that our house is all set and prepared for Hubby’s coming and to welcome the guests too!

One thing that’s inevitable when a family is away from the home country is the need for frequent travel and therefore there are times that the family is separated for a certain period of time. Many times Hubby and I told ourselves that we have to travel as a family to prevent being away from each other, but then, there is always another ‘last time’ since traveling as a family of 4 is just so expensive.

Being alone with the kids is also quite a challenge for me. Without Hubby around, no one else is there to help me or take turns with me in taking care of the kids. My kids are very energertic, so it’s quite stressful being with them 24/7.

Anyways, Hubby’s coming back tomorrow after a week of being away..and finally, I could rest………

Our printer’s broken and repairing it would cost almost equal to buying a new printer. So, to repair or not to repair, that is the question. Printer’s have actually become so cheap these days, but the ink cartridges are still expensive. There are those  recycled toner cartridges

, but I’m not sure if they’re cheaper than the others. But all I know is that more and more people are opting for the ‘pirated’ inks. You know, those than come in large bottles and just attach it to the ink cartridges. Admittedly, we have those pirated inks, but the quality is not the same as the real ones.

Anyways, I hope we can have a new printer soon or repair our old one. I just need a printer  in our house so badly and I hope we could get one fast.
